The thing is the Republicans around the country didn't buy into McCain, they were just handed him like a piece of Government cheese. Say what you will about the long drawn out primary process, but at least nobody (outside of Florida and Michigan who were screwed by their state leaders) can say their voices weren't heard.

Say what you want about the Democratic primaries because so long as Hillary stays in, the media will stay focused on it rather than McCain.
